At the Performance Pavilion

I am unfamiliar with this venue (the Performance Pavilion). What is it?
The Performance Pavilion is an enormous 100x115ft. clear-span canvas tent with professional strut theatre lighting temporarily erected on Morven Museum & Garden’s grounds. The top of the tent is covered, and up to three of its four sides can be open during performances to allow for patron access and airflow. There is no climate control within the tent.

This venue has flat-floor seating with no steps or risers, with the stage set approximately 3 feet from ground level.

When should I arrive?

  • We recommend arriving no later than 30 minutes before a performance’s start time.
  • The Festival Box Office opens 90 minutes before a performance’s start time.
  • Ticket scanning begins, and the performance space opens 1 hour before a performance's start time.

Can I see the performance space’s seat map?
You can view the seating chart HERE

Please note that the seat map for the opera differs from the standard seating.

What is the average runtime of a performance? Is there an intermission?
Concerts, cabarets, and other performances – 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, including a 20-minute intermission

Operas - approximately 3 hours, with one to two 20-minute intermissions

Are these performances appropriate for children?
Concerts, cabarets, and other performances - Recommended for children 5-years-old and up.

Operas - Recommendation is dependent on the opera. Most comic operas are appropriate for children 5-years-old and up. Serious operas’ age recommendation will vary depending on the content. If there is an age restriction, it will be found on the performance’s webpage.

Additionally, you can contact our Box Office at (609) 497-0020 or email [email protected] for information about a performance’s age recommendations.

Note: Youth (ages 17 and under) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must be a ticket holder. If a youth ticket is purchased without an adult ticket, you will be contacted by a member of our Box Office team.

How can I identify the staff for a performance?
You can identify the Princeton Festival’s staff by the following:

  • Full-time PSO Staff Members will have name tags identifying themselves and their positions.
  • The Box Office Team, House Manager, Assistant House Manager, and Front of House Attendants wear royal blue polos with “STAFF” written on the back.
  • The Security Team wears black polos with “SECURITY” on the back.
  • The Production Team wears navy polos with “CREW” on the back.

Where is the Box Office & Will Call desk located?
The Box Office & Will Call desk is located on the left front patio of Morven Museum.

Where do I enter the performance space?
There are two entrances to the performance space:

  • If you are walking up Morven Museum’s driveway, take the left path, and you will see the Ticket Check-in Station located just after the luxury restroom trailers and Box Office desk.
  • If you are walking from Stockton Education Center and the Colonial Lawn, take the walkway through the courtyard, and the Ticket Check-in Station will be directly in front of you.

Where is the Accessibility Services desk located?
The Accessibility Services desk can be found just past and to the right of the Ticket Check-in Station and adjacent to the Marketing Table.

For more information or to request a specific service, please contact Accessibility Services Coordinator Mika Godbole at 609-905-0931 or [email protected].

Where are the restrooms located?
The luxury restroom trailers are on the left side of the Moven Museum’s driveway, just before the Ticket Check-in Station.

These restrooms are a combination of men’s and women’s multistall, single-use, and accessible restrooms.

Are there designated smoking areas at this venue?
Smoking, vaping, use of electronic smoking devices, or any tobacco products is strictly prohibited at Morven Museum & Garden. Those wishing to smoke, vape, etc. must exit the premises.

Will I find a contemporary concert’s volume too loud?
All performances have a thorough soundcheck to ensure the best quality performance. Nevertheless, some patrons may find the sound level of some energetic pop/rock performances too loud for their comfort level. In these cases, we recommend bringing earplugs so you can have the most enjoyable experience possible. We will also have foam earplugs available at the Marketing Booth's Accessibility Desk in the lobby area.

**Please do not approach the sound engineer during a performance or at intermission to request a change in the performance’s volume.**

What if I am late for a performance?
If you arrive after the concert has begun, the house managers or ushers will seat you at an appropriate point in the program, so as not to disrupt the performance and other concertgoers. Depending on when you arrive, we cannot guarantee you will be able to go to your ticketed seats. It will be at the house manager’s discretion where they seat you.
